Taraba shines at NAFEST as Gov Ishaku insist on excellence

Taraba state is currently making a good showing at the ongoing National Art of Festivals (NAFEST) taking place at Uyo. Participating in all the categories, Taraba state contingent have continued to excel. Commenting on the effort of the Taraba state delegation, the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Emmanuel Bello, said this is a demonstration of Governor Darius Ishaku commitment to cultural excellence in the state. He noted that the governor is dedicated to nurturing and exporting the rich cultural and tourism endowments of the state.
Bello said, "Taraba state is arguably the cultural and tourism capital of Nigeria. That's why our governor has since made up his mind to ensure that we are present at all cultural events to showcase our virtues. He is also working round the clock to make sure Taraba becomes a choice destination for tourists. He told me that he looks forward to cutting in half the traffic to Obudu in Cross River state.

The governor has since eased air travel into the state with the regular air services ongoing. The roads connecting the state within and without are also in place. As I write this many investors in the hospitality sector are trooping to our state to take advantage of the opportunities provided. The state also enjoys longer hours of sustained electric power supply- a fact that is encouraging to tourists and industrialists."

Bello added that the state cultural troupe is one of the most vibrant in the nation today consisting of highly motivated and energetic performers.
In his words " Taraba is one of the most culturally colourful state in Nigeria. And our troupe is a direct reflection of that. We are a state of very diverse cultures and have a profound array of dances, songs, costumes, masquerades, cuisines, art and craft among other attributes. A trip to Taraba state is an experience worth having," he said.
