Gov Ishaku is the most media friendly governor in Taraba's history, says.

As part of his continuous rapport with the media, Gov Darius Ishaku has commended practitioners in the state, describing them as veritable partners, even as a media aide says Gov. Ishaku is the most media complaint governor in the history of Taraba state. Speaking recently through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Emmanuel Bello, Governor Ishaku restated his commitment to the digitisation drive of the administration. In various parley with news men during the week in Jalingo, Bello reassure media practitioners of government commitment to a harmonious working relationship. At the press center where he felicitated with the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bello noted that the governor holds the media in high esteem. He said, " Governor Darius Ishaku is a media friendly governor who believes the media is his biggest ally in the rescue mission. And he has demonstrated this again and again in not just revamping the sector but also touching the lives of practitioners as individuals. Our governor is always quick to settle bills of members who are in dire needs even as he is concerned about their working conditions. He is currently spending billions of naira to digitise the television and radio stations that has had obsolete equipment dating back to antiquity. He is the only one who has had the political will to push through the project. In fact, some states have abandoned the digitisation project due to the economic recession but not Ishaku who has said even if this is the only thing he can accomplish, he is gratified."
Bello further stated that even in some of his appointments, Governor Ishaku is demonstrating his love for the media. "This is the first time we are having a Special Assistant of new media in the person of Mr. Nelson Len. That's the seriousness with which the governor views even the social media. Many other states just take that sector for granted. No former governor here even looked into that sector. But by recognising that genre of news distribution and even appointing an overseer, you would agree that Taraba has entered a new day as far as media is concerned," he said.
While also speaking to the correspondent chapel members, Bello said the governor was aware of the hard work they are putting in daily in reporting the state. He called for greater cooperation from them as their work can go a long way in enhancing the efforts of the governor. Bello said "I can assure you that Governor Ishaku is very grateful for the good job you are doing. Through my new position, I would ensure more access to information and greater cooperation between you and government. Hopefully, we should be having a monthly town hall where we can always deliberate on government activities so that Taraba people would have greater access to what government is doing because Governor Ishaku is doing a lot that the Taraba public need to be told on a constant basis. That's why my office would engender greater openness between the public and government. After all government is not a secret society"
